Board Certified Clinical Specialist
A native of Evansville, Indiana, Greg graduated with a Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy from the University of Evansville in 1992. With extensive undergraduate internship experience as a student athletic trainer, Greg became NATABOC certified as an Athletic Trainer in 1994. Greg subsequently completed a post-graduate Master’s of Health Sciences in Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis in 2001.
Greg began his professional career at Rebound Sportsmedicine, a division of Bloomington Hospital, in 1992 but moved to McHenry County in 1995. Following a brief stint at Centegra’s Rehabilitation and Sports Clinic, Greg transitioned to clinical and subsequent managerial roles for over a decade at HealthSouth and Novacare in Crystal Lake, IL.
After years of consideration, Greg lept into private practice ownership in December of 2007 and hasn’t looked back. He enjoys the freedom private practice allows in treating patients with their best interests at heart and without any outside influences that impact other therapy clinics. Greg devotes a more individualized approach to each patient’s care in a model that combines the best treatment strategies developed over a career in sports medicine and orthopedic rehabilitation. He has developed a wide array of treatment skills ranging from manual therapy to functional progressions for return to sports.
Under a rigorous examination and credentialing process, Greg became McHenry County’s first Board Certified Sports Clinical Specialist in 2006 and recertified in 2016. This honor, deemed one of the highest bestowed by the American Physical Therapy Association, remains the pinnacle of Greg’s professional career to date. His other awards include a Certification in Applied Functional Sciences and certification as a WorkWell functional capacity examiner. Greg also continues extensive continuing education opportunities in a breadth of topics. Greg is an avid Notre Dame football fan (Go Irish!) and thoroughly enjoys reading military history.
